Playground Pals – Terms of Service

Welcome to Playground Pals („App”, „Service”, „we”, „us”, or „our”). By accessing or using the Playground Pals mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service („Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use this App. Playground Pals is designed for parents and guardians to find playgrounds and connect with other families. Children should not create accounts or use the App without parental supervision.

2. Account Registration

  • You may register using your email address, Apple ID, Google account, or Facebook account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Post or share inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts or our systems.
  • Use the App to spam, solicit, or send unsolicited communications.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality or servers.

4. Friend Connections

  • Friends can only be added by sharing a unique invite code or scanning a QR code. This ensures that connections are intentional and consensual.
  • You may remove, block, or report any user at any time.
  • Blocked users will not be able to see your activity or send you friend requests.

5. Check-ins and Location

  • Check-ins are voluntary and place-based. The App does not continuously track your GPS location.
  • When you check in to a playground, other users may see that someone is present. Your friends may see your name at the playground unless you have enabled Privacy Mode.
  • Check-ins automatically expire after 3 hours.

6. Privacy Mode

You may enable Privacy Mode in your profile settings. When Privacy Mode is enabled, your friends will not see which playground you are checked in to. You can toggle this setting at any time.

7. User Reports and Moderation

  • You may report users for inappropriate behavior, spam, or other violations.
  • We reserve the right to investigate reports and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating accounts.
  • We are not obligated to monitor all user interactions but may do so at our discretion.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and functionality of the App are owned by Playground Pals and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App without our prior written consent.

9. User Content

By using the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and process any content you submit (such as your display name and profile information) solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

10. Disclaimers

  • The App is provided „as is” and „as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of playground information, including locations, descriptions, or amenities.
  • We are not responsible for the condition or safety of any playground listed in the App.
  • We do not guarantee the identity or behavior of other users.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Playground Pals and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the App.

12. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the App’s profile settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
